Want to Excel in Events? We bet You Didn’t Know this…

Whether it’s your job to organise and host an event, it can be tough getting your head down and actually growing the event, especially when daily stresses can get in the way.

It’s fair to say that for many working in the events industry, a lot of time is spent working and running on autopilot, without actually taking a breather or the time to focus on themselves.

If you want to wake up and start your day by focusing on the important things, it’s time to start prioritising your energy where it counts.

Keep reading to discover these small things that you can do for yourself, designed to help you excel in your next event – and that’s a guarantee.

Do: Plan Your days

Of course, everyone is totally different and has a different way of working. Whether you work by deadlines, cross off daily or weekly spreadsheets, or even if you work off your own diary with notes, ensure that you know exactly what’s on your to-do list for the rest of the day.

When you can start ticking off completed tasks throughout the day, it’ll leave you with a clearer headspace and for whatever event you’re planning. From a bar mitzvah party to corporate events for your company, focus on what you want to achieve for just that day alone and you’ll begin to conquer.

Don’t: Sleep in and Go to Sleep Early

It’s easier said than done, but try to get early nights, or at least give yourself some alone try to relax and unwind. Then, wake up early and get started on your day! Mornings are the perfect time to meditate, or work on things that you might want to focus on later in the day, without other people.

Do: Continue with learning

Keeping up your education is always a positive and as the industry changes, you’ll need to do whatever you can to stay in the loop and not fall behind. No matter how high up in the industry you are or whether you’re an events intern, there is always more for you to learn. Whether you choose to add a qualification to your resume, take part in networking and industry events, or simply keeping your brain active by reading, personal development is important in success and you’ll get it through learning.

Don’t: Give up exercise!

No matter what, all research points to exercise having huge benefits, regardless of your industry or job role. Often when event coordinators have busy workloads, they find themselves pushing gym time to the wayside. This isn’t just detrimental to your physical health, but your mental health too. Regular exercise and fuelling your body with healthy food will ensure you’re focused and ready to tackle the hectic trials that events coordinating can throw at you.
